Now spring is here, we can well and truly look forward to some warmer months ahead, that is if the British weather bucks up its ideas, but that being said, there really is no excuse to not get outside and enjoy the garden. The morning and during the day present some amazing opportunities to enjoy the outside.
From drinking your first hot drink of the day in the calm of the morning air to exercising on your lawn, hanging your washing out, or enjoying an afternoon break.
However, it was the evening I wanted to focus on. It’s a time of day that can still be enjoyed outside, and I thought it was time to share with you some of the inspiring ways you can enjoy it.

Eating outside
One of the first and perhaps more obvious ideas is to enjoy eating outside. It’s one of life’s simple pleasures, and yet we perhaps don’t do it enough here in the UK.
You may not have the space, or certainly, a place to do it, which is why it could be a worthwhile investment to look into some new furniture. Perhaps something space-saving like rattan cube furniture or something more elaborate like a corner sofa, table, and chairs.
Having a place to eat would inspire you to dine outside more often. Whether it’s a simple salad or a roast dinner, why not enjoy the evening sun in a different way?
It’s time to BBQ
Again having a BBQ is something we all strive to do in the summer, but don’t do anywhere near as often as we should. People in other countries may use an outdoor oven or BBQ several times a week, even if it’s just to cook something simple like chicken breast or a steak.
If you want to feel inspired, then you may need to think about purchasing a new BBQ. These days you can get gas-operated ones that heat up really quickly, and cook food to perfection. Gone are the days when you have to stand around waiting for the coals to warm up.
Entertaining family and friends
Perhaps you are more sociable, then maybe you want to think about a space to entertain family and friends in the evening. Perhaps adding some lighting to your garden so the conversation can flow well into the evening.
You can pick up some amazing solar lights, or if you want you could wire up some lighting that is electrical. However, nothing can beat good old-fashioned candlelight.
Simply relax in good company
Sometimes it is just good to relax, and there is no better way to do it that outside in a comfortable seating area or in hammocks if you have trees or a hammock stand to use and lighting a fire. You can get some amazing fire pits that not only give off heat but also look great. Giving that calming ambience you can enjoy, after a hectic day.
For an added layer of comfort as the temperature drops, consider bringing out a microwaveable wheat bag, hot water bottle or luxury blanket throw to keep warm while you unwind outdoors. They’re perfect for staving off the evening chill without having to retreat inside.
I hope this has inspired you to utilise your garden more frequently in the evenings. Whether it’s for entertaining or relaxing, there is something to suit all of your needs.
